About the position

The Biostatistician at Mayo Clinic serves as a statistical consultant and project manager, applying statistical programming and methods to the design, implementation, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of various studies. This role requires collaboration with study teams and investigators, utilizing a diverse set of statistical techniques to meet project demands. The Biostatistician will work closely with senior-level Biostatisticians to communicate findings and may operate independently in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• Function as a statistical consultant/project manager for research, clinical, and administrative studies.
• Apply statistical programming and related methods such as machine learning to various projects.
• Assist in directing the biostatistical aspects of research and clinical studies in collaboration with consulting staff or higher-level Biostatisticians.
• Summarize and communicate project findings to study team members, investigators, and other stakeholders.
• Work independently with limited oversight from higher-level Biostatisticians when necessary.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field with at least 12 graduate level semester hours in statistics, biostatistics, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of a diverse set of statistical methodologies and experience conducting analyses using programming software (SAS, R, or Python).
• Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Advanced Survival Analysis, Statistical Genetics, Clinical Trial Design.
• Commitment to customer service and ownership of the customer experience.
• Strong organizational, documentation, written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Graduate GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Basic knowledge of human physiology and/or medical terminology.
