About the position
The Biostatistician, Technical Lead position is responsible for providing expertise in statistics and data science to support quality measurement science. This role involves conducting research for the development of quality measures and managing project teams of statisticians and data managers. The position focuses on guiding the statistical aspects of developing next-generation quality measures that enhance equity, quality, and affordability in healthcare programs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare data sets for analysis and evaluate and resolve data issues
- Contribute to the design of studies supporting quality measurement activities, including measure development and adaptation
- Conduct statistical analyses that inform measure design and testing, including risk models, validity, and reliability
- Partner with project leaders and lead project teams to identify and capture necessary data from various sources
- Regularly communicate project status to organization leaders
- Maintain knowledge of statistics and informatics relevant to healthcare and research
Requirements
- Advanced degree in statistics, biostatistics, or health services research
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a methodologist or statistician in quality measures development
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a portfolio of projects and budgets
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated understanding of statistical and technical aspects of quality measures using various data sources
- Proven ability to work under deadlines on complex projects
- Technical knowledge to guide project teams and learn new content as needed
- Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Collaborative mindset with a passion for healthcare quality improvement
