About the position

Zymo Research is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Biotech Field Sales professional to lead the expansion of our B2B business. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses strong problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will develop and execute strategies to drive growth, cultivate relationships with key partners, and ensure our product portfolio aligns with client needs. As the Business Development Territory Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping strategies to expand our market presence, particularly in the B2B sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to expand Zymo Research's B2B business.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key industry partners and customers.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their challenges and develop tailored solutions.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Zymo Research's product portfolio to effectively communicate offerings.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing, R&D, and other teams to align business development efforts with company objectives.
  • Lead negotiations and manage contracts to secure favorable terms for Zymo Research.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success of initiatives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development within the life sciences or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business development strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a proven track record of maintaining long-term professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred background in biology or related life sciences disciplines.
  • Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS) is a plus.
