About the position

The Blender Operator 1 at Aveva Drug Delivery Systems Inc plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process of transdermal products. This position involves performing the batching of blends, which includes working with active drug substances and ensuring that blends are manufactured consistently. The operator will lead a crew responsible for coating blends and adhesives to produce laminate, as well as performing finishing operations on the coated laminate. The role requires assembling and disassembling blending and manufacturing equipment, weighing and documenting raw materials, and maintaining accurate batch records. The operator must comply with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safety policies while executing their duties. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Blender Operator 1 will assist in training other manufacturing operators and will be expected to maintain cleanliness in manufacturing areas and equipment. The position requires a collaborative approach, working as part of a team to achieve production goals while adhering to the company's values of collaboration, courage, perseverance, and passion. The operator will also be responsible for performing on-line coat weight sampling operations and preparing finished or slit laminate rolls, contributing to various tasks across production and other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manufactures blend batches with active drug substances consistently.
  • Leads a crew to coat blends and adhesives to produce laminate and perform finishing operations.
  • Assembles and disassembles all blending and manufacturing equipment.
  • Weighs and documents the weights of raw materials, components, and product intermediates.
  • Documents operational parameters and steps performed in the batch record.
  • Performs batch record accountability calculations.
  • Assists in the training of manufacturing Operator Is throughout all manufacturing operations.
  • Works with active drug products, adhesives, solvents, and various other chemicals in the manufacturing process.
  • Documents operational parameters for manufacturing equipment.
  • Complies with Current Good Manufacturing practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and safety policies.
  • Maintains and cleans manufacturing and production areas and equipment, documenting work performed in logbooks.
  • Performs on-line coat weight sampling operations.
  • Prepares finished or slit laminate rolls.
  • Performs job tasks within production and other departments as needed.
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Operates in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.
  • Performs all work in support of the company's values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.
  • Ability to complete batch record documentation accurately.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, batch records, and cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and interpret data graphically.
  • Mechanical ability to assemble manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of FDA, DEA, cGMPs, and SOPs related to job requirements.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Manufacturing Operator I or equivalent related experience.
