The Blending Operator I position is a critical role within the Operations-Production department, located in Albany, OR. This position requires the individual to operate various types of equipment including mixers, pumping equipment, high-speed mixers, and tinting equipment in the production area. The Blender is responsible for following process orders from start to finish, ensuring that all pertinent information is accurately recorded. This includes adding materials in specified quantities and at designated times, monitoring temperatures and mixtures, and documenting necessary batch information. The role also involves taking, conducting, and recording samples at designated times to ensure the production of timely, consistent, and quality batches. In this role, the individual will manufacture and blend batches for the liquid filling line, which involves weighing, measuring, and mixing liquids, solids, and powders. Proficiency in math is essential for calculating batch requirements and tolerances. The Blender must ensure and document quality throughout the blending process and efficiently use the company's enterprise resource planning system to maintain accurate inventories and departmental paperwork. Collaboration with various departments, suppliers, and the railroad company is necessary to arrange for bulk shipments. Additionally, the Blender will draw samples of mixtures for laboratory analysis and perform simple laboratory tests such as viscosity and density. Maintaining good housekeeping is crucial, as the individual will be responsible for regularly cleaning the work area, machines, and equipment. The Blender is expected to identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing costs or increasing productivity without compromising effectiveness. An open and candid working relationship with the immediate supervisor or manager is essential for discussing matters of importance.
