About the position
The Block Manufacturing Operator at Preferred Materials - Concrete is responsible for operating machinery and performing various tasks within the concrete block manufacturing plant. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to work independently while ensuring the efficient operation of manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Monitor the operation of concrete block manufacturing machines.
- Remove and install brick molds and clean machinery parts.
- Shovel, sweep, and rake debris from the base of machinery.
- Make adjustments to machine calibration and perform general repairs.
- Push blocks along rollers and arrange them for pallet placement.
- Climb into machinery for repairs and clean out mixers.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not required).
- Forklift experience (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
- Ability to work over 40 hours including weekends.
