About the position

Sovran Building Systems is seeking skilled Block Masons and Laborers to join their team in Quincy and surrounding areas. The positions involve various responsibilities related to masonry work and labor tasks, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials
• Move and stock materials
• Use mixer to make mortar
• Erect and use scaffolding correctly
• Cut stone, brick and block according to specifications
• Perform site clean-up
• Complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent
• Enforce safety rules and regulations on and off job site
• Read and interpret plans and drawings as they pertain to masonry work
• Lay out work using chalk lines, plumb bobs, tapes, squares and levels
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and/or deficiencies

Requirements

• Ability to lift and place heavy materials weighing more than 40 lbs.
• Experience in masonry work for Masons
• Ability to work at heights and outdoors
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
