About the position
The Precision Technician at Tenneco is responsible for the setup and operation of various friction manufacturing equipment, ensuring quality production while maintaining safety standards. This role involves working with multiple machines and adhering to company values and protocols to drive advancements in automotive technology.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety rules, using all PPE as required.
- Inspect product for quality and take corrective action if unacceptable, while accurately recording all scrap data.
- Demonstrate proper machine operation per standard work requirements and follow all work instructions.
- Accurately enter all computer data required for job tickets and production logs.
- Maintain and utilize the set 5S Standards.
- Maintain machine standard condition and perform preventative maintenance as required.
- Produce the required quantity of work daily and adjust pace to meet deadlines.
- Perform any other jobs as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certification required.
- 1-2 years manufacturing experience required, 5+ years preferred.
- Successful completion of basic skills test.
- Successful completion of drug screens, background screens, and physical demands testing.
- Solid reading, writing, and mathematics skills including decimals & fractions.
- Ability to follow written & oral instructions.
- Ability to work with a high level of precision.
- Ability to read and interpret precise measuring instruments.
- Works well with others on the team.
- Computer skills.
