About the position

The Blockchain Data Engineer role focuses on crafting, implementing, and supporting distributed blockchain-based enterprise solutions, particularly within the financial, banking, and asset management domains. The position requires hands-on experience with blockchain technologies and a strong understanding of smart contracts, as well as proficiency in data analysis and database design.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, and support distributed blockchain-based enterprise solutions.
• Develop Data APIs to support varied application requirements.
• Analyze data and design databases, ideally using Oracle.
• Utilize relational database technology, data engineering, and ETL/ELT skills.
• Work with blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Solana.
• Implement data quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Generate insights and analytics using data from blockchain data vendors.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and apply Agile principles.

Requirements

• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of recent experience with relational database technology, data engineering, and ETL/ELT skills.
• 7+ years of professional experience with Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, or other blockchain platforms.
• Substantial knowledge of blockchain and crypto-based analytics, ideally in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of cryptographic principles and blockchain protocols.
• Experience with Linux shell scripts and job scheduling tools like Control-M/Autosys.
• Expertise in SQL and identifying patterns and trends in blockchain data.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Snowflake and AWS.
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of finance and investing domains.
• Experience with diverse blockchain and distributed ledger implementations like Corda, Hyperledger Fabric, Polygon, and Stellar.
