The Blood Drive Event Planner is a full-time position that focuses on managing blood drive accounts, maximizing their production, and finding new accounts to ensure the success of blood collection efforts. This role is part of the Donor Resources Department and requires close collaboration with the Donor Resources management team to meet and exceed collection goals while building strong relationships within the territory. The position involves providing necessary support to blood drive coordinators through personalized planning, marketing, donor appointment management, and follow-up. The Event Planner will be responsible for planning and executing effective strategies to recruit, retain, and manage sponsor group organizations to achieve territory blood collection goals. This includes establishing blood drive projections, developing potential sponsor leads, strategizing recruitment tactics, and holding external stakeholders accountable for achieving drive goals. Effective communication with donor chairpersons and donor groups is essential throughout the entire blood drive process, from pre-event planning to post-event follow-up. The role also encourages creativity in campaigns to increase donor participation and implements all marketing programs from The Blood Connection. Additionally, the Event Planner will provide superior customer service to blood donors and sponsor groups, educate the community about the importance of blood donation, and seek opportunities to promote blood drives at health fairs and community events. Building strong relationships with sponsor groups is crucial for growing blood drives into more successful events, and the Event Planner will coordinate meetings and presentations to teach donor recruitment techniques and promote the mission of The Blood Connection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing blood drive accounts and maximize their production.
  • Find new accounts and work efficiently to utilize corporate resources.
  • Work closely with the Donor Resources management team to meet collection goals.
  • Provide support to blood drive coordinators through planning and marketing.
  • Establish blood drive projections in line with divisional resources.
  • Develop potential sponsor leads and strategize recruitment tactics.
  • Communicate effectively with donor chairpersons and donor groups before, during, and after events.
  • Encourage creativity in campaigns to increase donor participation.
  • Implement TBC marketing programs and exhibit teamwork within the division.
  • Establish committees to recruit donors and volunteers for drives.
  • Coordinate meetings and presentations to educate sponsor groups on donor recruitment techniques.
  • Provide superior customer service to blood donors and sponsor groups.
  • Educate the community by attending health fairs and giving presentations.
  • Organize meetings with sponsor contacts to promote blood drives.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • 2 years of outside sales and/or marketing experience or related experience.
  • Public speaking skills to effectively communicate The Blood Connection's message.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Valid Driver's License with no major infractions and dependable transportation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels in a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
