About the position
The Asia Geoeconomics Analyst at Bloomberg will focus on the intersection of geopolitics, economics, and markets in East Asia. This role involves conducting both short-term and long-term research projects to provide insights into how geopolitical events impact the global economy and markets. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of specialists to deliver high-quality analysis and forecasts for Bloomberg Terminal clients, helping them navigate complex economic landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of the team's knowledge on geopolitics, economics, and markets in East Asia.
- Develop and execute independent research projects while supporting collaborative efforts.
- Represent the team at client events and on Bloomberg media platforms as needed.
- Collaborate with Bloomberg's economic and government reporters on joint research projects.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience in geopolitics of East Asia.
- Expertise in the intersection of geopolitics, economic statecraft, and financial markets.
- Degree in political science, international relations, regional studies, economics, or a related field; a graduate degree is a plus.
- Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in English and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience living or working in East Asia.
- Proficiency in Chinese or another major regional language, with fluency preferred.
- Experience in government or international institutions focused on East Asia.
- Experience generating diverse content formats, from rapid responses to collaborative research.
- Expertise in technology, political science, economics, military studies, international trade, or geo-economics.
