Our Finance Team at Blue Canyon Technologies (BCT) is seeking a highly motivated Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) analyst to support a diverse portfolio that includes both external and intra programs for commercial and DOD customers. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all FP&A activities and deliverables. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong critical thinking skills, a proactive approach, and a keen eye for innovation and process improvement. The position is remote but requires occasional travel, making it essential for the candidate to be adaptable and ready to engage with team members across various locations. In this role, you will establish and implement a structured cadence for FP&A inputs and reviews, ensuring timely delivery to the SIM FP&A team. You will be responsible for the accurate analysis of financial performance metrics such as bookings, sales, profit, and cash flow, while also identifying and communicating any issues that may impact financial outcomes. Ownership of financial reports and presentations will be a key aspect of your responsibilities, with a focus on data integrity and timely analysis. You will also conduct cost analysis for all programs, support the BCT SRO process, and actively participate in forecasting and business reviews with leadership teams. Your role will involve monitoring and analyzing BCT investments, including capital projects and overhead spending, as well as facilitating long-range planning activities to meet deadlines. You will provide variance analysis and support month-end close reporting, working capital monitoring, and program financial forecasting. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to drive actions to completion and improve overall performance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement a monthly and weekly cadence for FP&A inputs and reviews.
  • Conduct accurate and timely analysis of financial performance metrics including bookings, sales, profit, and cash flow.
  • Own financial reports, presentations, and FP&A deliverables with a focus on data integrity and timeliness.
  • Perform cost analysis for all external and intra programs.
  • Support the BCT SRO process with a focus on consistency and accuracy.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly forecasts and business reviews with leadership teams.
  • Monitor and analyze BCT investments, including capital projects and overhead spending.
  • Facilitate long-range planning activities to meet SIM FP&A deadlines.
  • Provide variance analysis and support month/year-end close reporting.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Minimum 5 years applicable work in Financial Planning and Analysis, Program Controls or related areas of finance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) concepts, related systems, and processes.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with SAP accounting system tools.
  • Excellent experience in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Budgeting and variance analysis experience.
  • Risk and Opportunity analysis experience.
