About the position
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Apprentice position at Crothall Healthcare is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare technology field. This role involves working under the guidance of senior personnel to perform technical tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electromechanical medical devices. The apprentice will be expected to meet all apprenticeship requirements and develop the necessary skills to function independently as a BMET I.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of simple electromechanical diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices under supervision.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, repair, and perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on medical devices using electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Provide support both on-site and remotely to hospitals or service centers.
- Participate in educational programs and training courses to develop skills required for independent functioning as a BMET I.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Entry-level experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital, clinic, or service environment.
- Preferred certifications include CABT, A+, etc.
Nice-to-haves
