About the position
The Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Apprentice position at Crothall Healthcare is an entry-level role designed for individuals seeking to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare technology field. Under the guidance of senior personnel, the apprentice will perform technical work related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of electromechanical medical devices. This role emphasizes adherence to established apprenticeship standards and the development of necessary skills to function independently as a BMET I.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of simple electromechanical diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices under supervision.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair medical devices utilizing electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Participate in educational programs and training courses to develop skills required for independent functioning as a BMET I.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; equivalent education, experience, or military training may be accepted.
- Entry-level experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital or clinic environment.
- Preferred certifications include CABT, A+, etc.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a hospital, clinic, or service environment as an intern, employee, contractor, or Co-Op.
