About the position

The position involves a basic understanding of various engineering disciplines including electronics, pneumatics, mechanical systems, basic TCP/IP networking, desktop computing, and human physiology. The primary responsibilities include installing, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, conducting quality assurance, and investigating accidents related to medical technology. The role also requires maintenance and calibration of medical equipment while ensuring compliance with safety rules, codes, practices, and policies.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes medical device performance through the completion of preventive maintenance (PM).
• Performs calibration of sophisticated medical devices using various test equipment and through the design of patient simulators.
• Completes repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
• Maintains UVA medical equipment inventory system.
• Complies with all safety rules, codes, practices, and policies.
• Performs initial inspections on medical equipment.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Education: High School or Post High School Tech Training.
• Experience: 0-3 years relevant experience.
• Licensure: Valid Driver's license required.
