About the position

The BMET II position at Crothall Healthcare involves performing maintenance and safety inspections on patient care and support equipment in compliance with established standards. Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment.
  • Manage all assigned equipment and schedule service.
  • Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures on equipment.
  • Ensure test equipment is working properly and calibrated within established intervals.
  • Respond to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify operator complaints.
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
  • Maintain purchase order log and validate invoices for payment.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and staff as requested.
  • Make recommendations regarding service strategies on equipment to the Department Manager.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement / Risk Management program.
  • Maintain an orderly and functional work environment.
  • Provide emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
  • Document all significant asset-related actions in compliance with department practices.
  • Participate in department meetings and collaborate with technical personnel.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license for field service positions requiring travel.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Good communication and strong customer service skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to serve 'on-call' duty as required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team member.
