About The Position

The Service Technician at BMW of Lynnwood is a skilled professional responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing various automotive issues. Requirements

  • ASE Certification is a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Service Technician or related automotive repair experience.
  • Completion of an automotive technician training program or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, reaching).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer concerns and symptoms to identify the root cause of vehicle malfunctions.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of various vehicle systems including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical systems.
  • Prepare repair plans outlining necessary repairs and estimated costs, obtaining customer authorization before proceeding.
  • Repair and replace faulty components following service manuals and manufacturer specifications.
  • Test repairs to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Document all repairs and parts used on service orders.
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, explaining technical issues in an understandable way.
  • Provide accurate estimates and timelines for repairs and keep customers updated on service progress.
  • Perform a wide range of repairs, from basic maintenance to complex engine or transmission overhauls.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols.
