About the position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position involves developing and implementing behavior support plans for individuals with lifelong disabilities. The role requires direct observation, data analysis, and collaboration with staff and family members to ensure effective behavioral interventions. The BCBA will also monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on data-driven assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Interview staff and/or family members to gather background information before developing the behavior support plan.
  • Analyze available data to determine the occurrence of problem behaviors.
  • Directly observe the individual in relevant settings to assess behavior.
  • Analyze data to identify the function of problem behavior.
  • Define target behaviors in measurable terms and design a data collection system.
  • Integrate strategies to reduce problem behavior and promote alternative behaviors.
  • Ensure the behavior support plan addresses the function of the problem behavior.
  • Train staff and/or family members on the implementation of the behavior support plan.
  • Monitor behavior data and provide monthly progress notes.
  • Conduct treatment fidelity assessments to ensure proper implementation of the behavior support plan.
  • Analyze barriers to implementation if progress is not achieved within 90 days and adjust the behavior support plan as necessary.
  • Review behavior data and discuss discrepancies with appropriate staff members.
  • Attend Human Rights Committee meetings and Psychotropic Medication reviews.

Requirements

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related major.
  • At least one year of experience completing comprehensive functional assessments and behavior support plans.
  • Two years of experience serving individuals with lifelong disabilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in psychotherapy.
