About the position

The Boat Vehicle Acquisition Specialist is responsible for acquiring additional inventory for the dealership by actively prospecting potential sellers, both within the existing customer network and through external channels. This role involves engaging with customers, negotiating deals, and managing the buying process to ensure a seamless experience for sellers. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, organization, and a proactive approach to inventory acquisition in the boating industry.

Responsibilities

• Procuring inventory for the pre-owned operation
• Negotiating purchase and consignment deals
• Managing inventory processing
• Setting appointments for appraisals with potential customers
• Communicating effectively throughout the buying process
• Reviewing boat evaluation reports
• Determining wholesale and retail prices
• Inspecting and accepting boats arriving onsite
• Creating and executing reconditioning plans for boats
• Researching and making offers on boats to close sales
• Turning prospective boat owners into trade opportunities
• Working with management to identify inventory needs

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Extremely self-motivated
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills
• Strong organization and follow-up skills
• Experience and desire to work with technology
• Valid In-State Driver's License and an acceptable, safe driving record
