About the position

We are currently seeking a Boat Vehicle Acquisition Specialist in the Corpus Christi, TX area, who will be specifically trained to acquire additional inventory for our dealerships by actively prospecting both outside of the Premier Yamaha Customer Network and existing customers. The Acquisition Specialist will utilize all available prospecting resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their boats. These resources include our existing customer database, third-party websites, dealer networks, and bank repossessions. This role involves consistent interaction with customers throughout the day, both in person and over the phone. The Specialist will make both warm and cold contacts with prospects who have their boats advertised for sale, whether online or as walk-ins to the store. The position requires setting appointments with potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal and guiding them through either our purchase or consignment process. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiating skills, organizational skills, and a proactive mentality, which are essential for success in this exciting boating industry. While prior buying experience is desired, it is not required as we offer an industry-leading training program. Past experience in sales of boats, autos, RVs, or powersports will provide a strong foundation for this role. Responsibilities include procuring inventory for our market-leading pre-owned operation, negotiating purchase and consignment deals, managing inventory processing, and effectively managing customer expectations throughout the buying process. The position also involves reviewing boat evaluation reports, determining wholesale and retail prices, inspecting and accepting boats arriving onsite, and creating and executing reconditioning plans to prepare boats for sale. The Specialist will use sound judgment, research, and excellent interpersonal skills to make offers on boats and close sales, turning prospective boat owners into potential trade opportunities while working with management to identify inventory needs.
