About the position
The Dockhand position at the Boating Club involves providing exceptional customer service while maintaining and operating the club's fleet of boats. This role is essential for ensuring a positive experience for club members and their guests, requiring strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and maintaining the fleet of club boats to a high standard
- Confirming reservations with members via phone
- Assisting members and their guests on and off club boats with boating supplies, fishing gear, coolers, etc.
- Helping members with docking upon departure and return to the dock
- Operating boats up to 28' in and out of slips and to the fuel dock for refueling
- Using an online check-in/out reservation system to log engine hours, fuel, and safety gear
- Inspecting club boats before and after member usage to ensure no new damage to the vessel
- Coordinating any necessary boat maintenance with the club operations team and/or vendors
