About the position

The General Manager at Bob's Steak and Chop House is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, and optimizing financial performance. This role requires a strong focus on food safety, quality service, and adherence to company standards, while fostering a positive work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance.
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.
  • Ensure that all financial and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately and on time.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, and local laws.
  • Maintain high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Supervise portion control and minimize waste in food preparation.
  • Ensure positive guest service and respond to complaints effectively.
  • Implement proper security procedures to protect employees and guests.
  • Manage shifts, including scheduling and planning while upholding standards.
  • Direct hiring, supervision, development, and termination of employees.
  • Conduct orientation and oversee training of new employees.

Requirements

  • At least 4+ years in a Management Role, preferably in an upscale Steakhouse environment.
  • Fine dining experience is required.
  • Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel).
  • Proficient in food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, and personnel management.
  • Current Food Handlers/Beverage selling certifications are necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of wine and fine dining is essential.
  • Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays.
