About the position

The Bodily Injury Associate Vice President at American Family Insurance is a leadership role responsible for designing and executing the claims strategy for the 3rd party Bodily Injury claim operation. This position focuses on enhancing performance across loss costs, expenses, and customer experience while managing a team of over 250 employees. The role emphasizes creating a collaborative and performance-driven work environment, ensuring strategy execution, and fostering high employee productivity and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion.
  • Set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support ongoing development of team members.
  • Lead with influence and expertise within the Bodily Injury department and overall Claims organization leadership teams.
  • Communicate and support the organization's mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.
  • Direct and coordinate all claims office operations to ensure a consistent claim handling approach.
  • Ensure execution of strategy to meet identified goals and objectives.
  • Leverage best practices and shared services to impact financial results.
  • Identify and assess compliance risks and develop processes to mitigate them.
  • Manage vendor contracts, activities, and performance.
  • Analyze operating and financial data to identify emerging trends and develop gap analysis.
  • Facilitate partnerships with strategic business unit members to address performance gaps and recommend strategies.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Ability to effectively manage claim operations and service delivery.
  • Fundamental knowledge of the insurance industry and claim environment.
  • Familiarity with the company's business practices and policies.
  • Demonstrated management or leadership experience in relevant areas.
  • Effective leadership skills and extensive knowledge of claims concepts and strategies.
