As a Body Shop Mechanical Technician at Nalley Hyundai, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of vehicles that come into our shop. Your primary responsibility will be to complete mechanical work and safety checks on all assigned vehicles, adhering to factory and dealership specifications as well as time standards. In this role, you will check parts against estimates to ensure that the correct parts are ordered and received. You will also be responsible for completing mechanical and safety checks as required by insurance companies. This may include performing minor body work such as small bumper replacements, dash replacements, and the removal and installation of interiors for hail repairs and addressing wind noise or water leak issues. It is essential to notify management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time. Safety is paramount in this position. You will be required to maintain and wear all necessary safety and health personal equipment, including a respirator, as recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Compliance with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials is mandatory, and any deviations must be reported to management. You will also need to stay informed about federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know regulations. Additionally, you will diagnose check engine and airbag problems, and experience with alignment and suspension work, as well as airbag installation, is a must. Previous experience as an automotive technician or military equivalent is required, along with a valid Driver's License and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings, including background and drug tests.
