About the position

The Body Weld Pilot Team at Futaba Indiana of America Corporation is seeking a dedicated team member to play a crucial role in the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, technologies, and products. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to pilot new initiatives, optimize production workflows, and ensure the successful launch of new vehicle models while adhering to company policies and performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to pilot new manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of prototype components and manufacturing equipment.
  • Continuously analyze production data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings.
  • Participate in quality audits, inspections, and root cause analyses to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for production staff on new processes and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of pilot activities, results, and lessons learned.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards proactively in alignment with the Safety Department.
  • Monitor schedules and activities of all stakeholders to maintain project momentum.
  • Manage employee relations in coordination with related department management and human resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and manufacturing software applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Must be willing to take the initiative on new projects and work required overtime.
  • Driver's license is required.
  • International travel required (passport is necessary).
  • Passing of a background check is required (no felonies).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Abnormal Handling and Control Methodologies (5S) and Standard Work Instruction (SWI).
  • Motivation to learn new skills.
