About the position

Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. is seeking to hire a talented and growth-minded individual to join our team as a Boiler Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining steam and hot water boiler heating systems, which includes the repair and/or replacement of heating system components. The position requires adherence to all company safety requirements and processes, ensuring that all tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner. You will inspect and repair automatic control mechanisms, water columns, and auxiliary machines such as pumps, draft fans, stokers, and burners. Additionally, you will be tasked with replacing safety valves and regulators, performing preventive maintenance, and cleaning boilers and auxiliary equipment using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents. As a Boiler Technician, you will also solder, thread, and/or press copper or steel piping when completing pipe repairs. Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues on oil and gas boilers (both hot water and steam) will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will perform combustion analysis utilizing a Digital Combustion Analyzer and make necessary corrections to fuel air mixtures. The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and an understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems, as well as a working knowledge of applicable boiler codes. You must be able to work on a team, interact with people, and maintain punctual and regular attendance. The position may require travel to job sites and occasional overnight stays, and you must possess a valid driver's license and meet the company driver qualification policy.

Responsibilities

  • Service and maintain steam and hot water boiler heating systems.
  • Inspect and repair automatic control mechanisms and water columns.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and clean boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Solder, thread, and/or press copper or steel piping for repairs.

  • Perform combustion analysis utilizing Digital Combustion Analyzer and adjust fuel air mixtures as needed.
  • Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and processes.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school or trade school graduate or GED required.
  • Two years' experience in pipefitting, fabricating, pump alignment, and boiler operation preferred.
  • Ability to enter data and generate service reports utilizing digital means.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of applicable boiler codes.
  • Ability to work on a team and interact with people.
  • Punctual and regular attendance is required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy.
