About the position

The BOLD Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma is a two-year program aimed at increasing the number of prevention scientists working within historically marginalized communities, particularly focusing on the Black/African American community. The fellow will engage in both project work and capacity development activities, receiving mentorship and exposure to the operations of the Southwest Prevention Technology Transfer Center (SSW PTTC).

Responsibilities

  • Plans and oversees high quality implementation of project goals and objectives in partnership with the PTTC Co-Director, Placement Site Coordinator, and Prevention Mentor.
  • Ensures compliance with the BOLD program's agreements.
  • Prepares reports and completes work within deadlines.
  • Plans and coordinates program events.
  • Analyzes information from different sources to problem solve.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill functions of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 48 months of related experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree (96 months total).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications.
  • Strong organizational, participation, and facilitation skills.
  • Able to interpret guidance and instruction from state and regional partners.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Recent college graduates or early career professionals with experience in substance misuse prevention.
  • Experience working or volunteering in Black/African American communities.
  • Master's degree in a related field and additional 12 months management/supervisory or leadership of community programs.
