About the position

The Bonding Operator position at Safran Aerospace Composites involves operating equipment within the bonding process for composite parts, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes teamwork, precision, and the ability to follow detailed work instructions while contributing to the production of advanced aerospace components. This full-time position operates on a four-day work week, focusing on both individual and collaborative efforts to achieve production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment within the bonding process for small and large parts.
  • Perform tasks such as kitting, bond layup, vacuum bagging, and surface preparation.
  • Accurately follow step-by-step work instructions using various computer systems.
  • Inspect work according to applicable instructions and shop procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Record part parameters using measurement tools like micrometers and calipers.
  • Use hand tools and pneumatic tools for precise work.
  • Document material and process deviations through the Material Review Report process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and corrective action processes.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations and safely handle hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with composite materials preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the metric system preferred.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to manipulate small items accurately.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with epoxy and adhesive materials.
  • Effective participation in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including data entry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in manufacturing.
