About the position

The Bonner and Civic Engagement Special Projects Coordinator at Spelman College is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing service-learning initiatives and student development programs. This role emphasizes faculty engagement, community-based research, and fostering positive social change through various special projects. The coordinator will work closely with faculty, students, and community partners to enhance civic engagement and ensure the successful execution of programs aligned with the college's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute faculty development events to support Service-Learning courses.
  • Recruit faculty mentors for community service projects and initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate special projects within the Bonner Office of Civic Engagement.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and logistics for successful implementation.
  • Coordinate and execute student development programs aligned with the Bonner Developmental Model.
  • Guide the development of 4th year Bonner Scholars and monitor their progress.
  • Collect and maintain data related to program participation and student outcomes.
  • Coordinate communication between community partners, faculty, and students.
  • Plan and execute events related to faculty engagement and student development.
  • Assist in budget management for programs and special projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
