About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and ensure the accuracy of our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in various accounting software. This role is essential in maintaining the financial health of our organization through diligent record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions in the general ledger.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and reports to provide insights into the company's financial status.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Assist with budget preparation and forecasting by providing historical data analysis.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Quickbooks for efficient bookkeeping processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including GAAP.
  • Perform 10 key typing for data entry tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with public accounting firms during audits or tax preparation as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial concepts is essential.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage or Quicken is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and public accounting practices is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are crucial for success in this role.
