About the position

The Accountant will manage various financial tasks for a private foundation and family office, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This full-time role involves handling invoices, payroll, reconciliations, and preparing financial statements, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Track invoice obligations, make accurate and timely payments, gain approval where necessary, and identify and report inaccuracies and variances.
  • Track foundation bank accounts and balances; report regularly to management.
  • Audit and ensure the accuracy of financial documents for payment and tax purposes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
  • Input payroll information on a bi-monthly basis or as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of outstanding payables and other financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with local law and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proactively keeps up to date on new regulations and principles.
  • Provide other clerical support to accounting and bookkeeping processes.
  • Additional tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • 6+ Years of bookkeeping, accounting, or closely related financial experience is required.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Bill.com is required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • High-level understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Understands highly confidential material and demonstrates discretion.
