About the position

The Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant at XS Power Batteries is responsible for performing various accounting and administrative duties to support the growth of the business and the accounting department. This role involves processing invoices, managing transactions and expenses, and maintaining the accounting database, providing an opportunity to enhance accounting knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting and administrative support functions
  • Update and maintain accounting database with data entry and reports
  • Handle communication with vendors via phone and email
  • Handle day-to-day accounting duties including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Review and process invoices and post payments, including credit card transactions
  • Contact past due customers for payment status
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Prepare bank deposits

Requirements

  • High School diploma required, Associates degree a plus
  • 3-5 years work experience in accounting field
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency with computers and software, such as MS Excel
  • QuickBooks Desktop experience a must
  • Trustworthy, efficient, and organized
  • Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently with little direction
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
