About the position

As a Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing essential administrative support to the team. This position involves managing property management finances, handling inquiries from owners and tenants, and performing various office management tasks. Your expertise in accounting principles and bookkeeping software will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of financial processes and communication within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly owner statements.
  • Handle journal entries and manage accounts payable/receivable.
  • Serve as the main contact for inquiries from property owners, tenants, and vendors.
  • Address tenant and owner portal issues.
  • Keep the office stocked with necessary supplies and coordinate office events.
  • Create and send monthly owner packets and new owner setup packets.
  • Work with owners to establish pricing for rent increases.
  • Create and send communications to tenants regarding property management.
  • Issue financial-related notices such as utility fee notices and rent increase notices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Appfolio and other accounting software.
  • Experience with accounts payable processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
