About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Sacramento Accounting and Advisory Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely financial reports. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in maintaining their accounting records
  • Assist clients with bill payments through Bill.com
  • Reconcile subledgers to general ledger
  • Assist clients in recording accounting entries, including deposits, client and vendor invoices
  • Reconcile monthly bank accounts
  • Notify Senior Accountant of any inconsistencies in accounting records
  • Assist in the reconciliation of the general ledger to outside programs including Bill.Com and Dext
  • Review general ledger coding to ensure proper classification and cutoff
  • Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of fixed asset subledgers
  • Assist the Senior Accountant to investigate and report on variances
  • Assist the client in preparing and submitting quarterly sales tax returns, annual property tax returns, and welfare exemptions
  • Assist in the preparation of annual 1099s for vendors
  • Provide backup for Office Administrator
  • Handle a variety of special projects and other related duties, as assigned
  • Develop solid working relationships with clients and client staff
  • Assist in the preparation of client audit and compilation reports
  • Prepare supporting documentation for preparation of the annual tax return
  • Assist in the compilation of client's annual tax return supporting files
  • Educate clients on supported accounting platforms such as Dext, Bill.com, and QuickBooks
  • Assist clients in utilizing accounting and supporting software functionality.

Requirements

  • 4 years' experience in bookkeeping
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge or the ability to develop knowledge of QuickBooks (online and desktop), Bill.com, Dext, Lacerte, CaseWare, Canopy, Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Teams, and excellent Excel skills.
