About the position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our team at 1st Choice Tax and Accounting Services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude in client interactions, possess a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and work independently to ensure accurate and timely financial results. This part-time position offers a pay range of $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, with a schedule primarily from Monday to Friday, and occasional weekends as needed. In this role, you will be responsible for various bookkeeping tasks, including bank statement reconciliation and the preparation of financial statements. You will also manage payroll processing for clients, which includes handling tax payments and submitting quarterly payroll tax returns. Your ability to perform data entry from source documents will be crucial in generating accurate financial statements. Additionally, you will prepare and organize documentation necessary for income tax returns, ensuring that all assigned client projects are completed timely and accurately, meeting client expectations. The position requires a high level of professionalism and a commitment to client and company confidentiality. You will need to exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. The ability to maintain composure and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment is essential, as is a willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing business needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as familiarity with QuickBooks, is required, with QuickBooks certification preferred.

Responsibilities
