About the position

The Bookkeeper Manager at MBE CPAs plays a crucial role within the Client Accounting Services (CAS) team, providing essential bookkeeping, payroll, and QuickBooks support to a diverse client base. This position requires a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and related tax regulations to ensure compliance in all financial activities. The Bookkeeper Manager will be responsible for delivering full charge bookkeeping services to multiple clients, utilizing QuickBooks to manage financial records effectively. This includes processing payrolls, which encompasses direct deposits and the generation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements. Additionally, the role involves offering QuickBooks support and consulting, which may include training clients on how to manage their records within the software as needed. In this position, the Bookkeeper Manager will also support clients by catching up on their financial activities throughout the year to facilitate the preparation of tax returns. Managing a book of business is a key responsibility, which includes delegating tasks to other members of the CAS team to ensure efficient workflow and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, to foster and maintain positive client relationships while ensuring that all bookkeeping tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full charge bookkeeping services to multiple clients using QuickBooks.
  • Process payrolls including direct deposits and generate monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
  • Offer QuickBooks support and consulting, including training clients on managing their records in QuickBooks as needed.
  • Support clients by catching up on the year's financial activity to produce tax returns.
  • Manage a book of business and delegate work to other CAS team members.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of generally accepted principles of accounting (GAAP).
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in QuickBooks software.
  • Two-year Associate Degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent level of bookkeeping experience.
  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience in a business or CPA firm setting.
  • Experience managing multiple clients is highly desired.
  • Comfortable working daily in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Oral and written communication skills to support building client relationships.
