About the position

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Manager to oversee our office operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our administrative processes. This role is essential for maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the overall efficiency of our organization, particularly through strong accounting skills and experience in corporate accounting practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily office operations, including administrative tasks and staff supervision.
  • Oversee corporate accounting functions, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform double entry bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure financial integrity.
  • Prepare technical accounting reports and assist with governmental accounting requirements as needed.
  • Utilize Sage software for account analysis and financial reporting.
  • Write comprehensive financial reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in accounting practices and office procedures.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative role, preferably within an accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting standards and governmental accounting practices is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Sage software or similar accounting systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in financial report writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
