About the position

The Bookkeeper position at 2K Consulting involves providing bookkeeping and payroll processing services to a diverse range of small business clients. Responsibilities

  • Entering financial transactions in QuickBooks (desktop and online versions) and Xero
  • Reviewing and correcting data entered by clients in QuickBooks and Xero
  • Reconciling accounts in QuickBooks and Xero
  • Managing Accounts Receivable - producing invoices, cash receipts, deposits
  • Handling Accounts Payable - inputting & paying bills, expense categorization, job costing, 1099 preparation
  • Preparing and processing sales tax returns
  • Monitoring deadlines to ensure compliance
  • Communicating with business owners to obtain necessary details and documentation
  • Maintaining electronic storage for all client documents
  • Developing best practices and implementation of standard operating procedures
  • Creating custom reports using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

Requirements

  • 3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (both desktop and online) and Xero
  • Understanding of accounting principles including debits, credits, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements
  • High level of organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Tech-savvy self-starter with above-average critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to thrive in a time-sensitive, deadline-based, fast-paced environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in creating custom reports
  • Familiarity with sales tax regulations
  • Knowledge of job costing processes
