The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the financial operations related to tenant accounts and vendor payments, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded and reported. This role involves a variety of clerical duties associated with billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, as well as other business-related transactions. The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the property management operations by preparing detailed reports of expenditures and invoice payments, balancing ledgers, and maintaining comprehensive records of all applicable transactions. In addition to these responsibilities, the Bookkeeper is tasked with maintaining organized owner, tenant, and vendor files that include all necessary financial documentation. Timely payment of vendors and invoices is a critical aspect of this role, which includes forwarding bills to the appropriate manager for signature and review. The Bookkeeper also creates and provides end-of-month financial statements for property owners, ensuring that every cent utilized in property management is accounted for, including the calculation of appropriate management fees. Regular interaction with owners, tenants, and vendors is expected, as well as collaboration with other property management staff to meet client needs. The Bookkeeper may also be involved in processing rent payments and issuing three-day notices, and may serve as an assistant to the accounting, billing, or related departments as needed.
