Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor financial or account records using accounting software.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain financial records.
  • Prepare and process payroll and related tax filings, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of financial or transactional data, checking figures and postings for correctness.
  • Prepare documentation for transactions or regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Generate financial reports, including balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile sales or financial transaction records and prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide financial guidance.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing and answering telephones.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bookkeeping coursework preferred.
  • 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in the financial industry.
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • General knowledge of accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
