About the position

Nutri-Serve Food Management is seeking a part-time Data Entry Bookkeeper to assist in managing day-to-day accounting tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial integrity of our operations, and it requires a candidate who values confidentiality, possesses excellent organizational skills, and demonstrates accuracy in their work. The ideal candidate will be a skilled multi-tasker, reliable, and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. The position involves a variety of responsibilities that are categorized into daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. On a daily basis, the bookkeeper will enter invoices and sales information from cashier reports, manage deposits for all schools, and ensure that cashier drawer reconciliations align with the Point of Sale (POS) system. The role also includes completing bank deposit slips, verifying daily change money, and maintaining receipts for petty cash reimbursement. Additionally, the bookkeeper will be responsible for locking and unlocking the office safe and maintaining employee records. Weekly responsibilities include verifying all paperwork, preparing weekly billing statements, and entering payroll data. Monthly tasks involve entering inventory into the NSFM Excel Spreadsheet, completing end-of-month functions for accurate accounting, running financial reports, and maintaining government and commodity books. The bookkeeper will also be expected to visit various locations to address any record-keeping issues and maintain office supplies. This position may require attendance at relevant training sessions and performing other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director (FSD).

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices and sales information from cashier reports and deposits for all schools.
  • Compare cashier drawer reconciliation to POS at the end of each day and make necessary corrections.
  • Complete bank deposit slips and verify change money for the day.
  • Maintain sufficient change for cashiers and all receipts for petty cash reimbursement.
  • Complete Petty Cash Report for reimbursement and manage the office safe.
  • Verify all weekly paperwork and prepare weekly billing statements.
  • Enter payroll data and maintain the weekly binder.
  • Enter inventory in the NSFM Excel Spreadsheet and complete end-of-month functions for accurate accounting.
  • Run all monthly reports and verify Year to Date bottom line.
  • Maintain Government/Commodity Books and enter special events paid into the computer.
  • Visit all locations with record-keeping problems and maintain office supplies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year of accounting experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and prepare clear and detailed reports.
  • Ability to develop and meet deadlines independently with little supervision.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to provide quality service.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with Excel and Word.
  • Data entry experience is essential.
