The Bookkeeper position at Kenny Habetz Injury Law is essential for managing the financial aspects of personal injury cases during the settlement process. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can handle various financial tasks while maintaining organized records and collaborating with the legal team. This position is crucial for ensuring accurate and timely financial processing, which directly impacts client satisfaction and the firm's efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all financial processing related to case management within the settlement phase, including verifying balances and ensuring accurate payments.
  • Handle office correspondence, including answering emails and phone calls, and attending team meetings.
  • Maintain organized records of case-related financial transactions and documents.
  • Generate and maintain various reports related to settlements and disbursements.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, case managers, and attorneys to address questions and resolve issues regarding cases, settlements, and payments.
  • Prepare and present status reports on settlements and other financial matters.
  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks such as entering daily batch information, processing expense payments, and reconciling accounts.
  • Utilize accounting software, banking portals, and case management software to streamline processes and ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in closing files and other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably in a personal injury law firm or accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs.
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks accounting software is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication to providing exceptional customer service.
