About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Cook Electric Inc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in bookkeeping software, playing a key role in supporting the financial health of our organization by providing timely and accurate financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation to verify account balances.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Utilize accounting software such as Xero or Sage for efficient record-keeping.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software (experience with Xero or Sage is preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and related regulations is a plus.
• Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger processes is desirable.
