About the position

A new client of ours is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their Accounting & Finance team! This client has been recognized as one of the most unique youth-serving organizations in the nation. Working with the Noble Network and many other best-in-class partners, this client invests in the life outcomes of over 2,000 youth annually with a dynamic integration of academics, youth enrichment, and college and career preparation. Our client empowers students with the tools and confidence they need to successfully reach their full potential. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process. This includes verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. The role requires bringing the books to the trial balance stage, performing partial checks of the posting process, and completing tax forms. Additionally, the Bookkeeper will enter data, maintain records and financial statements, process accounts receivable/payable, and handle payroll in a timely manner. The position also involves preparing monthly financial statements, which includes recording sales, deposits, payroll, and disbursements. The Bookkeeper will review financial statements, which includes a balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, as well as selected financial ratios. Other responsibilities include making accruals and reconciling bank statements, as well as reconciling cashless and credit card accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll experience
  • Prior experience with accounting software is required
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Team-oriented personality

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience in a youth-serving organization
