About the position

We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join Natola Concrete Inc, with the potential for full-time work. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in various accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Perform account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial information.
  • Prepare financial reports for management review.
  • Utilize technical accounting skills to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Process transactions using financial software, including QuickBooks.
  • Handle debits and credits accurately while ensuring proper documentation.
  • Support governmental accounting requirements as needed.
  • Preparation and filing of monthly union reports and payment of fringes and dues.
  • Assisting/preparing of weekly payroll using QuickBooks.
  • Assisting with accounts payables/receivables.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with QuickBooks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and account reconciliation techniques.
  • Excellent 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry.
  • Understanding of financial concepts related to both private and governmental accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Construction Industry Union experience.
  • Notary Public.
