About the position

All About Kids is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records, including sales, receipts, payments, and purchases. The role involves daily recording of financial transactions, preparing financial reports, analyzing results, managing invoices, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations. This position provides essential maternity leave support and coverage within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Accounts Payable Coordinator
  • Manage all monthly accounts payable functions including rent and expenses for 4 office locations, insurance and benefits, tax payments, and vendors
  • Maintain schedule of outstanding checks per bank account
  • Work with payroll company to set up and distribute year-end 1099's
  • Respond to therapists regarding pay issues/questions
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of bank deposits with AR team
  • Oversee and manage Accounts Payable Coordinator duties regarding 1099 bi-monthly payments
  • Run and maintain accounts payable reports; coordinate with Billing team, Payroll, and Finance Department
  • Manage bank reconciliations for approximately 12 accounts
  • Assist Accounts Receivable team with bank deposits
  • Create grant invoices for NY school districts and provide explanations of programs and budgets for grants
  • Process IRS payments and maintain updated schedule of outstanding checks
  • Write and mail checks as needed
  • Manage PPE expense tracking
  • Collaborate with external auditors and accountants for annual financial audit and CFR
  • Maintain spreadsheets and documents for yearly reporting
  • Process tax forms and manage record keeping of tax data
  • Categorize, store, and maintain all bookkeeping data.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years' experience in a Bookkeeper position
  • 3+ years experience calculating, posting, and managing accounting figures and financial records
  • 3+ years experience with Microsoft Office, Peachtree, and/or Quickbooks; experience with CLAIMS and/or HR Cloud is a plus
  • Experience in the children's therapy industry is a plus.
