About the position

Kids of the Kingdom Child Development Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with 3-4 years of experience in a lead accounting or bookkeeping role. The bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and preparing financial reports for our Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Track and record all income and expenses related to the child development center's daily operations.
  • Ensure accurate and organized financial records for the center.
  • Regularly reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for presentation to the Board of Directors, highlighting key financial data.
  • Process bi-monthly payroll for staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and file necessary tax returns, including sales tax and payroll taxes.
  • Monitor transactions for any discrepancies or errors, addressing issues promptly.
  • Identify and resolve any financial discrepancies, reporting any issues to the Executive Director or Board.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in a lead accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax filings.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ProCare Child Care software is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
