About the position

We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our team in Stockton, California. This role involves managing financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The position offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity, providing a chance to work in a dynamic environment and make a difference in the community. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that all transactions are recorded properly. You will play a crucial role in the financial health of the organization by managing all financial transactions, processing accounts receivable and payable, and conducting bank reconciliations. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up to date. In addition to managing financial transactions, you will also be responsible for conducting month-end close procedures, managing payroll activities, and maintaining financial documents and records. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the community, fostering positive relationships and community involvement. Utilizing tools such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, you will track financial data and ensure that all accounts are reconciled accurately. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely and accurate management.
  • Carry out bank reconciliations, verifying and reconciling transactions.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for data entry and financial tracking.
  • Conduct month-end close procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate.
  • Manage payroll activities, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Maintain financial documents and records to ensure all information is updated and accurate.
  • Work with the community, fostering positive relationships and community involvement.
  • Use GSuite and Outlook for effective communication and organization.
  • Perform account reconciliation tasks, ensuring accurate balance in all accounts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Experience with Bank Reconciliations
  • Proficiency in Bookkeeping
  • Data Entry skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Month End Close procedures
  • Experience in Payroll management
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks software
