About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team at Smith and Stilwell, Inc., a payroll company for the film industry located in Midtown Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and proficiency in various accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
• Perform double entry bookkeeping to ensure accurate financial records.
• Conduct general ledger reconciliation to maintain integrity of financial data.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Utilize financial software such as Sage for efficient record-keeping and reporting.
• Assist with tax preparation and compliance to meet regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized financial documents and records for easy access and audit purposes.
• Collaborate with public accounting firms as needed for external audits.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial concepts and principles, including GAAP.
• Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
• Experience using financial software, particularly Sage, is a plus.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and preparation processes is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
