Our client is a small CPA firm specializing in personalized financial services for small businesses. They pride themselves on providing high-quality accounting, tax, and consulting services. They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeping and Payroll Manager to join their team and lead the department. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm's bookkeeping and payroll services. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient processing of client transactions and payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of bookkeeping and payroll principles, and experience in a CPA firm environment. As the Bookkeeping and Payroll Manager, you will supervise and mentor a team of two bookkeepers, ensuring high-quality performance by providing guidance and support. You will conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development and training, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Your responsibilities will include ensuring and reviewing the accuracy of client financial records and reports, processing client payroll, and filing tax deposits. You will also pull quarterly and year-end reports, address client inquiries, and resolve issues professionally and promptly. In addition, you will oversee the recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements is essential, as is preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and clients. You will identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement by analyzing financial data, evaluate and improve bookkeeping processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy, and implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping and payroll matters will also be a key part of your role.
